Birling gilt
A low winter sun illuminates the chalk cliffs at Birling Gap
The mid-winter sun sets at 90 degrees to the coastline at Birling Gap which would give an image of just sea and sky. On this occasion I thought I'd concentrate on the effect of the colour of the light here, in particular the complementary colours of the chalk cliffs reflecting the golden light of the sinking sun and deep blue sky.
