    Birling creamy cliffs

Diffuse light through high cloud brings out the creamy soft colour of the chalk cliffs at Birling Gap

Light filtered through high cloud allows the creamy colour and texture of the chalk cliffs to be captured in this evening view at Birling Gap.

This is a highly active erosion zone with major falls of the chalk occurring during recent winter storms as the base of the cliffs are constantly undercut.
